Tutoring: I will be available after school every Wednesday and Thursday to give additional help until 4:30 p.m. If interested, you must give me advance notice and be in the classroom no later than 3:20.
Homework and Grading Policy: Grades will be based on performance, formative and summative assessments: quizzes, tests, varying class work and homework assignments, lab reports, projects, and other categories that are essential to content specific classrooms. I expect the students to receive homework assignments once or twice a week due to A/B block schedules. The students will be responsible to keep track of their homework assignments through google classroom or personal agendas. The students will also be responsible to keep notes and study guides to help them prepare for the quizzes and tests prior to completing each unit.
Students, at any time during each academic quarter, may re-do any homework or classwork for a different grade. When work is re-done, the two scores of the work will be averaged for a final score.
If a student is showing failing grades, or is in danger of failing, parents and administration will be contacted. At this point, it will be requested that the student work with staff in order to improve grades and make sure that concepts taught in class are understood.
It is recommended that both students and staff check PowerSchool on a frequent basis in order to continue tracking student progress and to help students take responsibility for monitoring their grades.
